It's official, Vasil Garvanliev is back to represent North Macedonia at Eurovision 2021, hosted in Rotterdam! Vasil's Eurovision journey began when he went to Tel Aviv in 2019 as a backing vocalist for for Tamara Todevska’s Jury winning entry ‘Proud’, which finished in 7th place in the Grand Final.

In 2020 Vasil was set to represent North Macedonia with the song "You" before the iconic contest was cancelled for the first time since it's inception in 1956.

Fortunately for Eurovision fans everywhere, all the 2020 contestants had the opportunity to participate in the unique Europe Shine A Light Broadcast and the Eurovision At Home Concert Series. About his return for Eurovision 2021, Vasil said in a statement on

"Rarely in life do we get not just one, but 3 chances to make our dream come true. In 2019 I proudly stood behind Tamara Todevska, in 2020 I dedicated everything to YOU - but Covid said no! In 2021 I am using my personal journey and story to place my heart in your hands through my voice...Never stop believing, dreaming and fighting for what you stand for in life. Dreams do come true!"

Vasil’s song entry for Eurovision 2021 will be selected internally and announced soon. North Macedonia's public broadcaster Macedonia Radio Television (MKRTV) is accepting submissions for the song until January 27th.
